High School Counselors
First-Year Admissions Requirements
UCR sets high admission standards. Incoming students are selected based on a wide range of criteria, including academic performance and the potential for success. We "admit to the major," not to the university. High-demand majors are highly competitive. To increase the chance of a favorable admission decision, we recommend students add a preferred and an alternate major to their application.
150+ Majors and Minors
Students can choose from majors like Biology, Business, Computer Science, and Psychology. Accelerated five-year BS+MS programs are also available in Engineering, Public Policy, Entomology, and Statistics.
